Hi, I’m burlywoods, a queer man in his mid (okay, late)-twenties living in the beautiful and sometimes frustrating first state of the union, Virginia. From Common Ground is my effort to eat locally and document the results.
As this infant blog grows, I have a lot of questions to consider. What am I trying to achieve by eating local, and what are my rules? How am I going to measure my progress? Is this a meandering journey, or a clearly mapped road?
So far my goals are:
- To shop at my local farmer’s market for as many items as possible
- To join a CSA program
- To experiment with new recipes that take advantage of local offerings
I plan on posting a Manifesto page once I have the rules a little more hammered out.
